14 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, April 18, 1990 PEOPLE Jaycees send | McDonald to leadership seminar The Back Mountain Jaycees are sponsoring Keith McDonald, a sophomore at Dallas Senior High School, for the 1990's Central Pennsylvania Leader- ship Seminar tobe held May 17, 18, 19, 20 at Millersville Univer- sity, Millersville, PA. This local competition was open to all high school sophomores. The crite- ria for selection consisted of evidence of emerging leadership ability, cooperation with fellow human beings, sensitivity to the needs of others, ability to relate to new pursuits and acquain- tances, and the desire to learn and share knowledge and expe- riences with others. , McDonald is a high honors student at Dallas Senior High School. He served as president of the ninth grade National Junior High Honor Society, was named as an outstanding Sci- ence student by the Luzerne County Science Teachers’s Association and was the winner of the American Legion Award. He is a member of the gifted program and an N.E.D.T. cer- tificate recipient. He is a member of the Na- tional Fraternity of Student Musicians and for the past eight years has earned superior rat- ings in the National Piano audi- tions. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. McDonald of Dallas. The Central Pennsylvania Leadership Seminar is spon- sored by the Hugh O’Brien Youth Foundation. The goals of the seminar are (1) to provide a setting for young people to in- teract with recognized leaders inbusiness, education, the arts, government and the professions; (2) to present a better under- standing of America’s system, and (3) to allow appreciation of the business world. Millingtons featured in art exhibit The Wyoming Valley Art League Gallery, 22 1/2 E. Union St., Kingston, recently featured an exhibition of drawings and paint- ings by Ann Millington, Shavertown and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Millington, Lake Louise. Over 150 members and guests attended the opening reception. The next gallery exhibit, April 21- 29 will be paintings, drawings and sculpture by Connie Slusser, Forty Fort.
