A small Instrumental Ensemble will begin the program with “Trum- pet Voluntary” by Purcell and “Christmas Serenade”. The cho- rus will then present the theme song, “Christmas In The Air", fea- ~ @@ turing Myron Pitcavage as ¥ “Rudolph”, followed by a 16th Century Christmas Hymn sung in Latin, “Resonet In Laudibus” (Lift Your Voice in Joyful Song) byJacob *Handl. An old English Carol, “As It ~ “Fell Upon A Night” will feature a LOSN bell solo played by Megan Har- disky. Grundahl’s setting of H.W. “Longfellow's poem, “Tis Winter “Now”, concludes this choral set. The Concert Band continues the “program with the favorite, “Carol “of the Drum”, arranged by John “Higgins. “Christmas Isn't Christ- “mas Without a Little Rock ‘n’ Roll” “will be directed by student teacher, “Mr. Dominick Cuccia. The chorus returns with “Christ- “mas is a Holiday of the Heart", with ~ 4@'soloists Lisa Davenport and Berit Case. “Back to a Christmas Past” ‘will be followed by selected Second ‘Grade students from both Dallas tary Schools singing, “My Two Front Teeth”. Tchaikowsky's “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and “A Christ- mas Finale” complete the Concert Band's solo performance. The concluding Choral segment in- cludes “Behold, a Tiny Child!” sung using sign language; “Christmas Day Is On Its Way” done by the Dal-Hi Choristers; “Come and See Dallas Middle School Ho ‘Dallas High Holiday Concert Sunday the Baby” and “And We Sing Glo- ria” both composed by Jay Alt- house. Accompanists for the cho- rus are Megan Hardisky, Lisa Davenport and Heather Hodne. The public is invited to attend free of charge. day Concert slated for Dec. 13 The Dallas Middle School Music Department will present their annual Holiday Concert, Wednes- day, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Middle School auditorium. Over 200 instrumental students, grades 6 through 9, and 70 vocal students will be involved in this presenta- tion. The 6th Grade Band, directed by Mr. Michael Pawlik, will begin the concert with familiar carols, including “What Child Is This?” they will also play pop tunes like, “Jingle Bell Rock". The Middle School Chorus, di- rected by Mrs. Florence H. Sher- wood, will perform the center por- tion of the concert beginning with “Christmas Is Here!”, “Christmas Beauty”, and “O Holy Night” with Michael Kernag and Greg Riley as soloists. “The Note-Ables” will fol- low with an old English carol, “As It Fell Upon A Night”, “Gonna Rise Up Singin, and “White Christ- mas”. The chorus will conclude this segment with “I Hear Bells” featuring Jennifer Cutter on Bells, “The Little Drummer Boy”, and “Sing The Good News”. Accompa- nists for the chorus are Lisa Lynch, Abby Russin and guest accompa- nist, Heather Hodne. The final portion of the concert will also be directed by Mr. Pawlik and will feature the 7-8-9th Grade Band playing, as a whole and small ensembles, traditional Holiday music.
