Five Dallas teachers to get new degrees Five Dallas teachers are in the . process of completing their gradu- ate studies in a relatively new Master's Degree Program at Wilkes College. The Master of Science Degree in Education concentrates on educational development and teaching strategies. The five edu- cators were among the first in the area to enroll in this innovative program. LCCC offers emergency medical cours With the growing demand for trained professionals in the medi- cal fields, Luzerne County Com- munity College continues to offer courses of study in eight allied health programs in order to meet area needs. One of them the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) curricu- lum, provides the student with both the clinical and administra- tive skills needed in today’s EMS systems. The program is open to students with no previous experi- ence in EMS, as well as to current practitioners. According to Jim Johnson, director of the LCCC Emergency Medical Services program, employ- ment opportunities in EMS are readily available. Ninety-five per- centoflastyear’s graduating class at LCCC are now working in the field. The EMS program at LCCC recently instituted new courses of study including Defensive Driv- ing; CPR; and Scuba Diving, which is offered through the college's Continuing Education Division. Honors and graduates Amber Forster named to Dean's List Amber Lynn Forster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Forster of Dallas, was named to the Dean's List for the spring semester and was graduated Cum Laude from Ashbury College with the Bachelor of Science degree on May 29.
