All proceeds will be used toward the Jaycee Community Fund to assist in local community projects. The Jaycee Car Wash is one of the Back Mountain club's annual fundraisers and is designed to provide a service to the community while helping the chapter. The Back Mountain Jaycees are a community oriented youth lead- ership training organization founded in 1975. WILKES BARRE - — NN b IN Police report DALLAS TOWNSHIP CAR RUNS OFF ROAD Patrolman Michael Moravec answered a’ call June 14 to an | accident on Ransom Road, just | north of the intersection with | Church Road. He reported that Anthony Sheposki, Jr., Kingston | tried to'brake to avoid a collision with another car and swerved los- ing control and leaving the road. ONE-CAR ACCIDENT Patrolmen Robert Jolley and | Weyman Miers were dispatched to | an accident on Lower Demunds Road and Roushey Street, where | investigation revealed that Earl David Rozelle of Dallas traveling north on Demunds Road crossed over into the southbound lane and : swerved off the road. KINGSTON TOWNSHIP CHARGED WITH DUI Patrolmen Frank Ziegler and Michael Moravec answered a call to an accident on Dug Road where they said that Anthony Powell of Wilkes-Barre of Wilkes-Barre trav- eling south in a Chevrolet on Dug Road near the intersection with Bunker Hill Road proceeded on the berm and struck a tree. Inves- tigation proved that Powell had a registration plate on the Chevrolet which was registered to the operator's 1981 Dodge. A witness, Sherry Piatt of Mead- owcrest, following Powell's car said he had been involved in a hit and run about six minutes before. Powell refused medical treatment from ambulance personnel and when asked to perform a sobriety test he failed. He submitted to blood alcohol tests at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and was charged with DUI and numerous vehicle violations. REAR-END ACCIDENT On June 9, police said John Lee Davis of RD 2, Tunkhannock, driv- ing north on Route 309, in a 1979 Dodge Van, struck a 1986 Jeep Station Wagon, driven by Nancy Neary Baird, which was stopped waiting to make a left turn. RECEIVING STOLEN GOODS CHARGED Sean Brin, 19, RD 1, Reyburn Road, Shickshinny, was charged for receiving and trying to sell sto- len property by Patrolman Walter Davis. Brin was trying to sell a guitar owned by Edward Browski. ASSAULT CHARGED Patrolman Frank Ziegler charged J. Mark Rogers, 29 Shaver Avenue, Shavertown, with simple assault to his son, Jason Rogers, June 11, 1989. DUI CHARGED, LOSES DRIVER'S LICENSE Patrolman Robert Parrish in- vestigated an accident, June 10, involving Thomas Hughes, 128 Meadowcrest, Trucksville. Hughes was charged with Driving Under the Influence and since he refused to submit to a blood alcohol test will lose his operator's license under Pennsylvania Law.
