The weekend is filled with activities for the public including a flea market, two out- door concerts, refreshments, ath- letic events, and class competi- tions. The community is invited to attend and admission is free. Saturday, May 6, the fraternity will host area vendors at a flea market which will be located near Merrick Hall. The flea market will open at 9 a.m. and run until 4 p-m. Rain date for the market is May 7. The highlight of Spring Fling for students is class competitions which occur throughout the week- end. The freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes com- pete against each other for points based on how they place in each event. The points are totaled, and the team with the most points is awarded a plaque and a $100 prize. - “Festivities begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 5, with a bonfire and the first competition: a scavenger hunt. ' Coinciding with the flea market will be the fraternity’s version of the Olympic Torch Run at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The run will begin on the Dallas Memorial Highway, continue onto Lake Street, and end in front of Merrick Hall. h Class competitions will con- & tinue from 12-4 p.m., featuring serious and not so serious ath- letic events. Among them are: basketball, tennis, golf, cross countryrelay, and kickball as well as an obstacle course, a Win, Lose or Draw competition, and a hot dog eating contest. The rock’n roll band, Orange Barrel of Sunshine, will play from 5-7 p.m., then a Greek Dance will begin at 9 p.m. in Merrick Hall. On Sunday, the class competi- tions will begin at noon and end at 4 p.m. A highlight of the day will be the fraternity’s variation of the Wet T-shirt contest. Ray celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on April 24 with a dinner at the Sheraton Crossgates in Wilkes-Barre. Mr. and Mrs. Ray formerly of Miners Mills were the proprietors Hozempas celebrate 31 years together Mr. and Mrs. Ignatius Hozempa, Lehman celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary recently. They were married April 26, 1958 in Our Lady of Victory from four buckets of ice water. Each bucket contains a T-shirt. At the sound of the whistle the first person from each team must run to the bucket, put on the T- shirt then run back to their line. There they take off the T-shirt, and give it to the second person in line who must repeat the act. The first team finished wins the event. Lynne E. Martin, daughter of Judge and Mrs. James A.
