In 1972, DiPasquale began a five year tenure as the first lay president of Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts. In July 1977, he was named presi- dent of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, the first lay president in the 138-year history of the college. After 10 years at Loras College, he became the first lay president of St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. Prior to accepting the position at Misericordia, DiPasquale was acting as a consultant to St. Tho- mas. DiPasquale and his wife, have Matthews to sing at Region |V chorus Victor E. Matthews, Jr., a senior at Dallas High School, will repre- sent Dallas at the Region IV Cho- rus March 8-11 at Montoursville High School. Victor is a Bass II. Sherwood is choral director ‘at Dallas High School. three adult daughters. Dr. DiPasquale received his doctorate degree in English litera- ture from the University of Pitts- burgh. As a Fulbright scholar, he attended Oxford University where he earned his masters and bache- lors degrees. In addition, he holds a bachelors degree from the Uni- versity of Notre Dame,. In 1987, the Notre Dame Club of Dubuque presented hime with the Award of the year, and Assumption College named a building in his honor, the DiPasquale Media Center, which was built during his presidency.
