10 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, January 18, 1989 SPORTS but loses By CHARLOT M. DENMON Staff Writer : : The Dallas boys go into this week's league competition still ~ looking for their first win, after losing 64-62 to Valley West Friday night and giving up a six point 75-69 game to Pittston Area. “We play Berwick at home and they're big and physical. ‘They have two excellent shooters in Joe and Jake Kelchner. They are good athletes and they have size. The key to our winning is to contain the Kelchners and then go after the others,” Coach Clarence Ozgo said. “Later in the week we play Tunkhannock on their court. We beat them in the Dallas Tournament but they are amuch improved team since then. After losing they will be looking for a win and this time it's a conference game. That's an incentive for both teams but we will have to play better than we did in the tournament to win,” Ozgo concluded. In their game with Valley West Friday night, the Mountaineers held a thin lead at the end of the first half and led the third quarter by one point, 45-44. In the fourth period, the ~ Mountainers gave the Spartans two three point goals at the start of the quarter that put them down. In the Pittston game they put up a good fight the entire game. Pittston is a quality team. Our boys made a great effort, they played high scorer Tom Brady man-to-man, they set screens on him, they did everything but he would get wide open and hit shots.” Brady put in 40 points for the Patriots as they defeated the Mountaineers by six. The Mounts took a4-0Oleadin the first quarter but it didn't last long when Brady made two foul shots and Sean Walsh tossed in a three-pointer to lead Pittston to a 10-4 advantage.
