Emergency Management Agency, Harrisburg. The ambulance was also pur- chased with funding by the same agency. Box 366, Dallas, Pa 18612 Lake Silkworth Fire Company increase membership in 1988 The Lake Silkworth Volunteer Fire Company has enjoyed a ban-' ner year in that membership has increased from 17 members to 54 members as of December. This increase was brought about by the fine cooperation of the newspa- pers and television coverage. The ~ bazaar held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church grounds was very successful due to the support of the people within the community and again the help of the media and the hardwork of the member- ship under the direction of chair- man Ernie Burke. Lake Group pick best holiday displays The Harveys Lake Protective Association recently awarded plaques to three borough families for their holiday displays. Three judges, all from outside the borough, chose the winners based on originality, use of lights, use of theme and the overall crea- tivity. The first place winner was Jim and Lorraine Smigelski of RD 3. Their display included a 10-foot wire Christmas tree decorated with lights. The display took almost six hours to assemble. Second place winner was Joy Byrd of Warden Place; and third, Betty Skersknas of Anderson Road. Dallas Boy Scouts visit elected officials Members of Dallas Boy Scout Troop #281 and Dallas Webelos Den, Pack #281 recently attended the December meeting of Dallas Borough Council. These boys are currently working on either their Webe- los Citizenship Badge, or Boy Scout Citizenship Skill Award, or the Boy Scout Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge.
