Bartt has been associated with Slocum Insurance Agency since 1982. He is a graduate of Elmira College, Elmira, NY and holds the professional designation of Certi- fied Insurance Counselor. He is a member of the Small Business Development Council and Visita- tion Committee of the Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce. He also Bartt Slocum serves on the finance committee of the Dallas United Methodist Church. Bartt resides in Shavertown, with his wife. Laura. Decker is certified in Geriatric Medicine Peter G. Decker, M.D., has been notified by the American Board of Internal Medicine that he success- fully passed its Geriatric Medicine Board and is now certified in the sub-specialty of Geriattic Medicine. An active staff physician at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre board cer- tified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Decker is a summa cum laude gradu- ate of King's College with a Bache- lors of Science degree in Biology. He later graduated from Penn State University at the Hershey Medical Center, and completed his medical internship and residency in the Scranton-Temple Residency Pro- gram. Dr. Decker is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Her- shey Medical Center and also cur- rently serves as chairman of the Mercy Hospital Education Commit- tee. He is a medical advisor for the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, U.S. Government for Peter G. Decker, M.D. Disability, and additionally serves as a member of the board of direc- tors of the Luzerne County Medical Society. Dr. Decker resides in Dallas with his wife, Ann Marie, and daughter, Rachel. New York Connection offers specialty items The name “New York Connection” is not new to residents of the Back Mountain but the fact that the shop is under new ownership is new. Barbara Hagen opened the New York Connection apparel shop July 28, several weeks after purchasing the business from former owner Barbara Meyers, who left the area to reside in California. Barbara Hagen now carries a wide variety of clothes for women of all ages and sizes from three petite to 18 1/2, from casual wear to formal dresses. Recently, she added a new line of custom designed belts, handwoven by her neice, Patti Wallo McClanahan, former Dallas resident who now lives in Atlanta, Georgia. The owner of Patti's Potpourri in Atlanta, Patti specializes in belts and accessories and brought to New York Connec- tion a variety of her custom made belts which Barbara will feature as Christmas gifts which can be purchased early by holiday shoppers.
