Dorothy has been collecting these for many years, receiving some as gifts from children and grandchil- dren and getting some as souvenirs while on vacations. We have in the display 38 sets of salts and peppers. There are two cats, a souvenir from Washington; a long dog with salt and pepper on either end, from Gettysburg; corn cob pipes; pot bellied stoves; mini- ature tea pots; and a set of green light bulbs. Some unique ones in- clude a toaster with salt and pepper slices of toast; a hershey kiss from Hershey Park; a strawberry salt and . a green hat pepper; a set of kissing cousins; and a saltand pepper train. There are kittens; owls, coffee pots, frogs, windmills; shells and Mexicans. There are 2 rocking chairs; Mr. and Mrs. Amish; Aunt Jemima and Uncle Tom; and 2 Pepsi Cola bottles. The display makes an inter- esting item for the entrance of the library and has already received much favorable attention. Dorothy works here at the library 25 hours a week through the Office of the Ag- ing. This display will be at the li- brary until December 2. Recent new book purchases at the library: Tapestry by Belva Plain is an involving new novel of the saga of the Werner family during the 1920's and ‘30's. The story blends the inner and outer worlds of the characters to make their lives our own; and pulls together many threads to form a magnificent tab- | leau. A novel to relish, cherish and remember. To Be The Best by Barbara Taylor Bradford is an on-going story of the living legacy of characters that have stolen the hearts and won the imagi- nations of millions of readers around the world. The story is filled with strength, courage and compassion with energies being divided between business and family. Once again we are taken into the glittering arena of immense wealth, glamour, and power from Yorkshire to London and Hong Kong. The Cardinal of the Kremlin by Tom Clancy takes us on a hunt for a renegade submarine, and to the frontlines of terrorism, and the tech- nological competitions of “Star Wars.” Religious services COMMUNITY CHURCH OF DALLAS (across from Chapel Lawn Cemetery on Harveys Lake Memo- rial Highway.
