DENMON Staff Correspondent Nonno Lini’s Restaurant, located on Farrell Street in Downtown Hilldale, proud of its excellent Northern Italian cuisine, has added weekly features for the benefit of their regular diners. Each week, Mary Theresa Malinowski, who runs the kitchen, prepares, from the menu specials, such mouth-watering entrees as Chicken Breast Parisenne, chicken breast topped with mornay sauce, asparagus spears and cheeses; Vitelle de Anifo, veal and chicken breast layered with eggplant, prosciutto and mozzarella, topped with marinara sauce or Veal Calabrese, scallopini of veal sauteed in extra fresh olive oil and fresh hot peppers with sliced potatoes. A special entree requested over and over is Crespelle con Critts Frutta di Mare, a delicate crepe filled with sweet Maine lobster, jumbo lump crabmeat amd tender sea scallps topped with a mornay sauce. All of the food served at Nonno Lini’s is fresh and cooked to order. The veal served at the restaurant is butchered by the personnel and pounded to order and everything, including the pasta made from fresh eggs and Semolina flour and sauces, are made daily. Rich Malinowski, host and manager, greets diners hospitably and he and his wife, Mary Theresa, head an efficient and friendly staff, who provide diners with the finest in service. Rich’s mother makes the desserts that are served at Nonno Lini’s, ranging from chocolate mousse to cheesecake to chocolate tortes to canoli. The connoiseur of Northern Italian cuisine will not be disappointed with dinner at the Hilldale Restaurant. The exterior of the Nonno Lini Restaurant belies the Northern Italian interior as one walks through the door. Latticework entwined with grape vines decorate the hallway to the Vineyard Lounge, Courtyard diningroom and main diningroom. The main diningroom features Florentine type hanging chandeliers, a large marble fountain and thick green foliage, all accented by highly polished dark wood booths highlighted by colorful upholstery. Reservations are now available for parties of eight to 30 in the newly-renovated Courtyard room. The decor turns back time to dining in an open courtyard in the Northern hills of Italy. For a pleasant and unique holiday occasion, call Rich for details and reservations. Jerry Malta entertains nightly at the piano and provides soft, relaxing music for listening pleasure while dining. Later in the evening on Friday and Saturday, he entertains with selections from Broadway hits, international music and a variety of musical arrangements as requested. A late night menu has been added on Friday and Saturday including a wide variety of hors d’oeuvres and such tempting foods as fresh oysters or clams on the half shell, shrimp, seafood, risotto, polenta, or specialty pizza served only at Nonno Lini’s. Dinner is never complete without a pleasant greeting from Rick’s grandmother, Nonni, whose sparkling eyes and exuberant ‘‘good evening’ begins the evening. To end a perfect dining experience, top off dinner with your favorite cocktail made by Nonno Lini’s bar staff, all professionals in their field. Open. Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 4 to 1 a.m.; and Sunday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Nonno Lini’s is among the places to visit for an “A-1 Dining Experience’, ‘an experience not to be missed.
