DENMON Staff Correspondent Thomas Hartley and Megan Claire Pickett’s invitation to diners to come in and enjoy their daddy’s breakfast and lunch specials should have included dinner specials as well. After six years of trying different entrees, Tom Pickett says he has finally got his act together and can now brag about the dinners served at Pickett’s Charge, The unique Civil War appointments such as natural wood walls and dividers, 19th Century booths, highlighted by Civil War blue carpeting provides diners with a quiet but cheerful environm, ent. Soft dinner music soothes the temperment of guests who have had a busy and hectic day. While waiting for their dinner, diners can be amused by watching the flocks of wild ducks, who make their home in the small stream along the side of the restatirant. Tom Pickett says he will compare his food with any place in the area. “I believe our meals compare with the best both in quality, flavor and attractiveness,” the restaurant owner said. Among Pickett’s specialties are prime rib and T-bone steaks, served with potato, vegetable and salad bar, both so tender and done SO perfectly, it makes for a gourmet meal. Veal is a specialty of the house and only the tenderloin, top quality and choice cuts are used inthe various ways veal is prepared under the watchful eye of Tom Pickett. The seafood is fresh daily and like the other entrees on the menu, prepared to order. None of our meats or seafood are frozen and we hand bread our scallops and shrimp,” Pickett said. “We also serve some Italian dishes such as cacciatore and Parmegiana.” The extensive salad bar is popular with both lunch and dinner guests and homemade pies melt in your mouth. After a busy day in the office, shopping, or at home, it is a delightful way to spend the dinner hour, relaxing over a special cocktail, listening to soft music, and enjoying the quiet atmosphere, Bacon 2 Eggs Homefries Toast $1.25 31 Lake St., Sun. 5:30 AM - 2 PM Sat.
