GEORGE CHARNEY Wed 40 years Mr. and Mrs. George Charney, RD 1, (Beaumont) Dallas, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on July 26 and were honored at an open house by their children. Many friends and relatives attended the open house. Mrs. Charney is the former Arla Coon, daughter of the late John and Nora Coon of Carverton. Mr. Charney is the son of the late William and Ella Charney. They were married on July 26, 1943, in the United Methodist Church in Carverton by the late Rev. Charles Gilbert, pastor at the time. Their attendants were Elizabeth Malarkey and John Charney, a brother of Mr. Charney. Mr. and Mrs. Charney have resided in Beaumont residence since 1949. They are the parents of five children, George, Jr., Cape May, N.J.; Mrs. Lawrence Campbell, Dallas; Mrs. Paul Spangenburg, Eatonville; Mrs. Richard Sabol, Dallas; and Robin, at home. Center celebrates The annual Christmas in July celebration at the Dallas Recrea- tion Center last week proved to be another successful program. Over 109 children joined in the games, gift exchange, pinatas and refreshments. The children dressed in bright reds and greens which added to the spirit of the occasion.
