Dallas Lady Mounts ran their league record to 2-1 last week by defeating West Side Tech cagers 81- 17 and edging Wyoming Seminary 42-37. In Thursday’s game with Seminary the Dallas girls put on a strong spurt in the final two minutes to take the win. Felicia Tucker paced the Lady Mounts in the fourth quarter putting in three layups with assists by Kathy Walsh. The Seminary girls were held to just two points in the first period while the Dallas cagers tossed in seven but the Lady Blue Knights out- scored the local girls 10-9 in the second period and 17-14 in the third quarter. Seminary took a 26-22 lead on field shots by Sarah Yohe in the third quarter but the Lady Mounts recovered the lead, 30-29 going into the last period. “When the Seminary girls keyed in on Walsh, she passed to Tucker, who made the points and gave Dallas a 40-37 lead with only 45 seconds remaining. We also had a solid defense,” said Dallas Coach Kit Karuza, following the game. “We play eight players just about every period. ‘‘Theresa Baseski paced our girls with 14 to eight points.” In Tuesday’s game with West Side Tech, Dallas girls were led by Sharon Eyet who tossed in 14 points. Sheri Ciccarelli put in 11 as did Theresa Baseski. Felicia Tucker added 10 points to aid in the win. vd - ® Coach Rodger Bearde’s Lake-Lehman Knights lost 61-51 to the visiting Crestwood Comets last Tuesday on the Knights court. Hampered by injuries since the opening of the league season, senior Chris Boyle’s absence from the game due to illness was a factor in the team’s loss. Coaches Ron Swingle and Jim Davis believe the team did an exceptional job. Sunbury and Shikelammy are noted for strong wrestling and this was a great experience for the Noxen boys. The coaches also wish to thank the parents of the wrestlers for making the trip a success. 3
