our wrestlers,” said

Schuler. “They look at us
and expect us to have
problems. They don’t
realize our boys go out
there to do their best and
to win. They did that last
Wednesday night.”

wins in league play last
week to give them a 2-1

“We played our best

Coach Rodger Bearde’s
Lake-Lehman Knights
lost 61-51 to the visiting
Crestwood Comets last
Tuesday on the Knights
court.
Hampered by injuries
since the opening of the
league season, senior
Chris Boyle’s absence
from the game due to
illness was a factor in the
team’s loss. Boyle's ex-
perience is a great asset
to the Knights play plan.
Knight high-scorer Billy
Bearde was held to five

of Swedish snowstorms.
The most intelligent car ever built.
673-1546
t
points by the Comets who
were paced by Rich
Loomis with 19 points.
Tom Kukosky was high
scorer for Lake-Lehman
with 16 points followed by
Paul Jones with 12 points.
The Knights took a first
end of the first half. In the
final quarters the Comets
came back strong scoring
35 points while holding the
Knights to 17 points in the
final 16 minutes.
“The two teams are
fairly even,’ said Coach
Bearde, “Af the loss of
one player such as Boyle
has a psychological effect
on the team. Boyle is out
indefinitely with mono.
He went in for a nose
operation due to an injury
in an early game this
season and it was then the
doctors discovered that he
had mononucleosis.
“We meet West Side
Tech this Tuesday and
GAR, Friday. Injuries to
Onzik, Boyle and Bearde
will hamper us.”
Wrestling
Congratulations to the
Elementary
Wrestling Club which
traveled to Sunbury on
Sunday, Jan. 9 to
scrimmage four of the
area’s teams.
Coaches Ron Swingle
and Jim Davis believe the
team did an exceptional
job. Sunbury and
Shikelammy are noted for
strong wrestling and this
was a great experience
for the Noxen boys.
The coaches also wish
to thank the parents of the
wrestlers for making the
trip a success.
