WRI Baseball ' Pirates trounce Blue Jays 13-6 The Pirates trounced the Blue Jays 13-6 in the Major Division of Harveys Lake Little League, Monday, June 2. George Hogan gave up only three hits to the Blue Jays. He was helped in the win by triples from Gregg Javer and Mark Shonis. Robby Kuschke knocked out a double. Jeff Cundiff did the mound work for the Blue Jays giving up only five hits. Cundiff hit a double for the Blue Jays only extra base hit. Phillies edge Reds 11-10 June 4 The Phillies edged the Reds, 11-10, behind the pitching of Jeff Martin. Martin aided in the win with a double and two long triples. Other extra base hits for the Phillies were Jackie Davenport's double, a double by Jim Martin and a triple by Kirk Vandermark. Ricky Titus hurled for the Reds. Chris Schariff drove out a double. Aaron Parrish hit a long triple to the out- field. T-Ball game rained out In the Unigraphics T-Ball Division, the Indians and Tigers were tied at 16 runs each when the game was called because of rain on Tuesday, June 3. Bears defeat Yankees 25-12 Chris Engle gave up only two hits to the Yankees as he paced his Bears team to a 25-12 win in the Minor Division of the league on Thursday, June 5. Alicen Van Gorder hit a long double and Chris Engle helped his own cause with a home run. Billy Derhammer pitched for the Yankees. Pirates take Blue Jays 13-6 On Saturday the Pirates defeated the Blue Jays 13-6 behind pitcher Ed Dubil who struck out eight batters and gave up only one hit. Robby Kuschke drove out two triples and Bobby Gray knocked out one triple. J.R. Smith aided with a double. Rich Cummins hurled for the Blue Jays. B. J. Gately's single was the lone Blue Jay hit. Phillies outscore Reds 14-7 The Phillies outscored the Reds 14-7 on Saturday behind hurling by Jim Martin who fanned six at the plate. Jeff Martin helped in the win by hitting a home run. Aaron Parrish pitched for the Reds with Chris Schariff and Brian Coulton driving out doubles. Villa Roma with seven wins in as many starts continues to set the pace for teams of the National Division of the Back Mountain Slo-Pitch Softball League while the Noxen Rebels remained unbeaten with a string of six wins to continue out front in the American Division. One or the other will be dropped from the un- beaten ranks this evening when the two teams meet on the back diamond at Lehman at 6. Carl Siglin of the Rebels is confident his team can maintain its undefeated record against the Villa Roma squad. Chuck Wilson and Bruce Boyle, who co-direct the destinies of the Villa Roma squad, however, sees it differently. “Our squad has seven wins under its belt and is confident we can knock off the Rebels,” Boyle confided. “We're not underestimating the Rebels.
