According to the Catholic chaplain, Father Clement Podskoch, CSC, this is the 19th year that the priests have come from King’s to minister to the inmates. Seven priests will be available for various services throughout the six-week period. Lenten services began on Ash Wednesday with a special Mass and homily by Father Podskoch, who conducts the regular Sunday services. His fellow priests from King’s will celebrate Mass and preach on Fridays; during Holy Week the special seasonal rites will be ‘held, culminating in the Easter Vigil service on Holy Saturday night. On Tuesdays, Stations of the Cross are held for residents. “It is our privilege to benefit from the services of my brother-priests,’”’ said Father Podskoch. “They look forward with great pleasure to join with us in our annual Lenten celebration.” The priests, familiar to Back Mountain residents from their visits to area churches, are Fathers Lozinski, Desharnais, Roche, D’Alonzo, Carten, Kazlauskas and Doyle.
