0 L, ) Reckless driving A Harveys Lake man was cited for reckless driving by Kingston Township Police early Monday morning after his car ran off Carverton Road and destroyed a homeowner’s mail box. Cited was Edward A. Pac, Jr., 22, of RD 1, Pole 267. Police said that Pac told them he may have fallen asleep while driving along Carverton. Investigating were Ptlm. Donald Gavigan and Ptlm. Gary Beisel. Copy machine stolen A copying machine worth more than $1,300 was stolen from the Dallas Intermediate school sometime over the weekend, according to Dallas Township Police. School personnel reported that the copier was removed from an office, with the theft being discovered Monday morning. Ptlm. Elliot Ide is investigating. Allunis gets lawyer Paul P. “Frenchy’’ Allunis, awaiting trial on drug and assault charges, was assigned a court-appointed lawyer last week. Luzerne County Public Defender Michael Cefalo has been assigned by Luzerne County Judge Robert Hourigan to represent Allunis. Presently lodged in the county prison, Allunis is scheduled for trial next week on charges of possession and delivery of a controlled sub- stance. No date has yet been set for his trial on charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment in connection with the May shooting of Harveys Lake ‘adult bookstore’’ owner Allen Morrow. Allunis had earlier requested a Public Defender but had been turned down for financial reasons. Judge Hourigan said that more recent investigation of Allunis’ financial circumstances made it possible to assign Cefalo. Apology required Two Kingston boys were reprimanded and made to apologize after arrest by Kingston Township Police in connection with the removal of a box-making tool from the property of a Shavertown resident last Thursday. A resident of the Peter Kerpovich home, RD 7, Box 399, reported having seen the two boys remove the tool. Police then discovered the tool some distance from the property and picked up the two boys, one of whom ad- mitted to having taken it. Their parents were called and witnessed the reprimand and apology. Investigating was Ptlm. Walter Davis. Harrassment complaint A ‘‘harassment’’ complaint by a Chase Correctional Institution inmate against two other inmates will be the subject of a hearing before District Magistrate Leonard Harvey Wednesday. Inmate Michael Wilson has made the charges against fellow inmates Alonzo Gadden and Harold Dixon, con- tending that they used physical violence agains him at the prison. Wilson signed the complaint in Magistrate Harvey's office Tuesday morning. Samaritans ripped off Two people performing ambulance service in Jackson Township last week were rewarded by having a battery stolen from their own parked car. Jackson Township Police report that while Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fielding were using the township ambulance to transport a woman to the hospital, someone took the battery from their private car, which they had left parked when they took over the ambulance. Collisionon 415 An attempt to back up along Route 415 precipitated a rear-end collision late last Tuesday evening, according to Dallas Township Police. Police report that Thomas J. O’Brien, of RD 3, Lower Demunds Road, stopped along the highway and started to back up off the road when his car was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Richard Bookless, 611 Country Club Apartments. Bookless told police he saw the O’Brien car but was unable to stop in time. Investigating was Ptlm. Jeremy Torr. Bikes stolen Two bicycles were stolen from a Trucksville home last week, Kingston Township Police report. Lisa and Robert Williams, 211 Division St., told police the bikes were removed from their property sometime during Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Ptlm. James Wisnieski is investigating. Inmate stabbed A Chase Correctional Institution inmate waived his hearing before District Magistrate Leonard Harvey last week and was ordered to stand trial in Luzerne County Court in connection with the stabbing of another inmate. Going to trial is Garland Elam. He is charged with having obtained a knife and having used it to stab inmate David Jackson last Tuesday. CTV warning stolen A sign warning of construction work was reported taken from Lehigh St. last Friday. The Dallas Cablevision Company told Kingston Township Police that the sign, worth $75, was placed there to warn of television cable installation work in progress. Ptlm.
