Ray Leskowsky drove out a bases loaded home run in the bottom half of the fourth inning to tie the score at 4-4 in the Meyers- Lake-Lehman game last Wednesday, won 7-4 by the Mohawks. Meyers scored a run in the top half of the first inning and three in the fourth to lead 4-0 while the Knights were unable to solve Brian Rinker’s pit- ching until the fifth inning when Leskowsky delivered his grand slam. But the Knight rally was short- lived as relief pitcher Guy Rothery came in and allowed only one other runner to reach base. A two-run home run in the sixth by Mohawk D. Skammer to lead staff The Back Mountain Hawks baseball team’ will open the 1979 season this Saturday hosting North Berwick and looking forward to a better season than their 8-13 record of last year. will be returning again this season. Skammer recently ended a 5-1 season with Villanova University. Craig Yanchik who hit a 328 batting average while playing first base at Kings College will be on the team as well as his twin brother, Chris, and John Reese, who will join the team in mid- June when he returns from college in Florida.
