Mr. and Mrs. Russell Race, Sr. of Orange will observe their 57th wedding anniversary on Sunday and will be honored at a family dinner Sunday afternoon in the Franklin Township fire hall at Orange by their children. Mr. and Mrs. Race were married on April 15, 1922, in Dallas United Methodist Church by Rev. Joseph Penwell, pastor at the time. Mrs. Race is the former Miss Mae Shotwell, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Shotwell of Beaumont. Prior to her marriage, school in Township. Mr. Race was a framer in his younger days. For more than 20 years, he has been a member of the Franklin Township board of supervisors and is she taught ‘Little Exeter’ presently serving as Franklin Township roadmaster. He also served as a member of the Dallas Area School Board. Mr. and Mrs. Race were blessed with eight children, all of whom are living. They were married on April 12, 1930, by Rev. T. Smailes in Vestal, N.Y., United Methodist Church. Miss Clara Traver, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Traver of Buckwheat Hollow. Mr. Traver worked at the former Noxen Tannery and for many years before his retirement was a main- tenance man at Irem Temple Country Club.
