Misericordia Sister Miriam Teresa, RSM, president of College Misericor- dia, will formally invest 222 freshmen into the traditions of the college, Oct. 22, as the college observes its annual Freshman Investiture cere- mony. During the ceremony, Sister Miriam Teresa will present a mortar board to each of the new students, symbolizing the student’s entry into the academic world of college in general and into College Misericordia specifically. Sister Miriam Teresa will be assisted in the ceremony by Dr. Leo R. Downey, academic dean of the college. Dr. Downey will also present the principal address of the afternoon’s ceremony. Traditionally, investiture had been the last activity in a series held Saturday and Sunday in celebration of Parents’ Week- end. In previous years, the junior class would fete the parents with parties, dances, and skits on College Mis- ericordia. Due to the lack of motel accommodations this 1 year, however, Parents’ Weekend has been canceled with the exception of In- vestiture Sunday afternoon. One additional g#¥ivity will be a Mass for freshmen and their parents in the college chapel Sunday morning. A spokesman for the junior class indicated that Parents’ Weekend might possibly be held during the spring semester, dependent upon motel con- ditions at the time. Since the George Reavy Quartet had already been contracted to play for a dance during Parents Weekend, the" junior class has decided to keep the dance on the agenda but has changed it from a Parents’ Dance to a publige dance. The public is invited "© attend at no charge with a special invitation extended to flood victims from Wyoming Valley. The dance will be held in Merrick Hall on campus from 9 to 12. A special, free baby- sitting service will also be provided. . . compliments of the Prices Ef 3tive Thru ‘09921, 100 TENDER—JUICY SLICED BACON FANCY LARGE FRANKS OLD Hl LANCASTER BRAND RANDOM P. “OUR VERY BEST” aac. 570.
