It : consisted of the club name, a 4- H| f banner, and two posters. One of | § the posters displayed pictures of | ! club members with their projects, | the other showed cutouts symboliz- | | ing the work of the Home Econom- ' ics and Gardening groups. As the | projects taken by the group rang- | ed from livestock to flowers, there was much interesting variety in | the display. He was called upon to assume this po- sition following the recent, passing of the bookkeeping and account- ing teacher. Upon graduating from Dallas Sen- ior High School, Kishbaugh attend- ! ed Wilkes-Barre Business [College for 10 months, completing his course in Business Administration at Drake. He is presently a night student at New York City Com- munity College. Dallas Junior High PTA Holds First Meeting The first P.T.A. Meeting of the 1964-65 calendar year was held Monday night, September 28, in the school auditorium. Devotions were led by Mrs. Miiton Evans. Mrs. Elwood Swingle, president, welcomed a capacity group of par- ents and teachers who came to par- ticipate in the evening's program. .She announced there would only be four meetings held this year and urged cooperation on everyone's part to make a good attendance record. Following a brief business meet- ing, Mrs. Swingle introduced the committee chairmen and asked for their reports. Mr. John Rosser, principal, explained the purpose of the parents went to the respective | | rooms and met with the teachers. Ninth grade mothers served re- freshments in the cafeteria. Ronald H. Evans, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Evans, Sr. Route 1, Sweet Valley, was assigned ‘to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N. C., on September 12. He is a medical aidman in the division. Evans attended Lake-Lehman High School, and was employed by B. G. Coon Construction Co., in Luzerne, before entering the Army. John Gerwell’'s Death | Affects Community The death of John Gerwell last Saturday afternoon, touched this community closely. Mr. Gerwell, lifelong resident of Kingston, had a number of music students in the Back Mountain. He used to play for farmer dances at Kunkle, accompanied by Dorothy Dodson, and was greatly in demand as an entertainer.
