Back Mountain 4-H News
by Debby Rogers
1 Last week was the National 4-H |
| Week. This annual event, previous-
8ly scheduled for the spring, has
been moved to the fall; so that it
© winds up the 4-H season.
The purposes of National 4-H week | |
is to turn the spotlight on the aims
' ‘and ideals of the 4-H organization. |
Clubs have displays and put on
programs designed, to inform the |
public’ of their: achievements.
f Here in the Back Mountain, the |
Cloverleaf Club celebrated National |
§ Ee week by placing a display in |
v I Shavertown Shopping Center. It
: consisted of the club name, a 4- H|
f banner, and two posters. One of |
§ the posters displayed pictures of |
! club members with their projects,
| the other showed cutouts symboliz- |
| ing the work of the Home Econom-
' ics and Gardening groups. As the |
projects taken by the group rang- |
ed from livestock to flowers, there
was much interesting variety in |
the display. Members of the Clo- |
verleaf Club met at the home of |
the leaders, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin
Scott last Sunday evening to set
up the display and put it in the |
window. |
