She came to attend the Charles Sutton fumeral. Word has been received here of the death of Clara Wilcox of Phil- adelphia. She was a resident of the Back Mountain, and her friends may be surprised to see this item. Harold Major, Jr., and his mo- ther, riding on Harold's new mo- torcycle, had an accident. They were bruised and shaken up, but thankful it wasn’t worse. "Mr. and Mrs. Morton Connelly gave a birthday dinner in honor of their son-in-law, Chester Lamor- eaux. The following were present: Mrs. Chester Lamoreaux and Carol- ann, Mrs. Dorothy Shearn, Uppér Darby, and honored guest. Mr. and Mrs. Connelly celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary by going to Williamsport with their family and having dinner together. Nancy Hawk, Mountain Top, vis- ited her grandmother, Mrs. Loretta Miers and family, over the Labor Day weekend. Rev. and Mrs. .Russell Butcher and Becky, Hagerstown, Md., have been guesis this past week of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nuss .and the Al- cen Wagners. Rev. Winfield Kelly's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stew- art, Elaine and Gerald, Morairia, New York, were visitors of Rew. and Mrs. Kelly and mother, Mrs. Knupp, over Labor Day weekend. It was good to see Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mandewille, Beaver Falls, New York, in the Methodist charch on Sunday. They are former resi- dents of Lehman. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crook and Billy, also Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elston anc Tommy and Doily, New Jersep, visited their mother Alice Elston over Labor Day weskexnd. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dawe and Sharon, Halifex, Nova Scotia, sp<nt several weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dawe. While here, they tured Williamsburg, Yorktown, camestown ond Virginia Bech. Waters, assistant | Armstrong county agent has been promoted to associate county agent, Thomas H. Patton, director, Cooper- ative Extension Service, Pennsyl- vania State University announced today. Waters has been a member of the Armstrong County Extension staff since November, 1960. He is associated with County Agent Wil- liam R. King with offices in the Courthouse in Kittanning. The son of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Waters, Dallas, Luzerne ‘County, he was graduated in 1953 from Penn State where he majored in general agriculture. He earned a master of science degree in farm manage- ment in 1958. He served two years in the U.S. Air Force as a first lieutenant, and for two years was fieldman in Blair and Bedford counties for the Inter- State Milk Producers Cooperative. In college he was a member of the College of Agriculture Student Council, Coaly Society, Block and Bridle Club, and Alpha Zeta, agri- cultural honorary fraternity. p In Armstrong county he has been active in both youth and adult phases in the Extension program.
