A family dinner is planned. The well-known couple have re- sided in the Back Mountain for 19 years, living first in Shavertown, be- fore moving to their present home. Mrs. Mannear was the former Idabelle Kanarr, daughter of Mrs. Grace Kanarr, Kingston, and the late Benjamin Kanarr. Her husband is the son of John Mannear, also of Kingston, and the late Mrs. Man- near. Active in many community af- fairs, the Mannears are especially interested in young people and their home is always open to their childrens’ friends. Mr. Mannear served for two terms as School Director of Dallas Dis- trict, serving as president during that time. He was also president of the Luzerne County Board of School Directors. An active member of Wilkes- Barre Rotary Club, he is at present chairman of Wyoming Valley Tu- berculosis Society Seal Drive. Christmas Program At Dallas High The annual program of Christ- mas music by the band and chorus of Dallas Senior High School will be presented this coming Sunday afternoon, December 15, at 3:00 in the ‘Senior High School auditorium. Christmas music featuring organ, chorus and band, both religious and secular will be presented. Beverly Eck will read the Christ- mag story as told to us in St. Luke, 2, verses 1 to 19. The chorus has prepared many fine tunes in keeping with the holiday season. Paula Scott will sing the traditional solo “O Holy Night”, and Diane Duffy will be the soloist for ‘White Christ- mas”. ) A trumpet trio from the sopho- more class includes Warren DeWitt, Robert Hiley, and Thomas Rowett and is accompanied by Ann Barnes. Accompanying at the organ will be Marsha Sowden, Ann Woolbert and Judy Bergstrasser. Piano accom- panists for the chorus are Jean Fleming and Sandra Smith. The senior high school band will open the program. Their numbers will include “Jingle Bell Rhapsody,” “A Christmas Suite of Five Melo- dies,” and a special arrangement of all well-known Christmas Carols.
