six weeks vacation, and Mr. and Mrs
Bill Wright, who have been staying
in Loyalville in the Ruff home, are
now installed in their new home
on the Rice development.
Dicky Scoggins, son of Captain
and Mrs. Charles Scoggins, Chelms-
ford, Mass., spent three days in the
hospital after having been injured
in a freshman football game and
carried off the field unconscious,
on the day of President Kennedy's
ass®ination. He has been consis-
tently the star of his team, making
th hajority of touchdowns. Dicky,

Mrs. Charles Wagner, Maple
Street, Fernbrook, underwent eye
surgery at Nesbitt Hospital on Tues-

ida on their bonus trip. Last night

Joseph W. Connolly, formerly of
Luzerne Street, Dallas, who moved
to Little Silver, N. J. two years ago,
suffered a heart attack recently. He
is at "home again with his family
after being hospitalized four weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mannear
Will Mark Silver Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mannear,
Overbrook Avenue, Dallas, will cele-
brate their 25th wedding anniver-
sary on Saturday, December 14.
A family dinner is planned.
The well-known couple have re-
sided in the Back Mountain for 19
years, living first in Shavertown, be-
fore moving to their present home.
Mrs. Mannear was the former
Idabelle Kanarr, daughter of Mrs.
Grace Kanarr, Kingston, and the
late Benjamin Kanarr. Her husband
is the son of John Mannear, also of
Kingston, and the late Mrs. Man-
near.
Active in many community af-
fairs, the Mannears are especially
interested in young people and
their home is always open to their
childrens’ friends.
Mr. Mannear served for two terms
as School Director of Dallas Dis-
trict, serving as president during
that time. He was also president
of the Luzerne County Board of
School Directors.
An active member of Wilkes-
Barre Rotary Club, he is at present
chairman of Wyoming Valley Tu-
berculosis Society Seal Drive. Ag-
sociated with Kanarr Corporation. .
he serves as secretary-treasurer of
that firm.
Mrs.. Mannear, a talented artist,
is producing many fine works of
art in her spare time. ‘She is active
in Kings Daughters and, is president
of Wilkes-Barre Women of Rotary
.| and has participated in many health
drives.
The Mannears are active mem-
bers of Shavertown Methodist
Church and number a host of friends
among their acquaintances.
There are four children; Brenda,
a dietician at New York General
Hospital, New York City; Charlene,
senior at Penn State University;
Mrs. Betty Williams, Dallas, and
John, an eighth grade student at
Dallas Junior High School. Also one
grandchild.
A pleasant and memorable an-
niversary, Idabelle and Charlie.

Wed At Carverton M. E. Church
Mr. and Mrs. William J. Richards,
R. D. 3, Wyoming, announce the
marriage of their daughter, Judith
Ann, to John Cathrall, son of Mrs.
Mabel Cathrall, Dalton, and the late
Dr. F. H. Cathrall on November 26
in Carverton Methcdist Church.
The ceremony was performed by

Miss Lynn Richards, sister of the
bride ,was maid of honor and Leon
Fredd, Dallas, served as best man.
Mrs. Cathrall is an alumna of
Westmoreland High School and
Bucknell University. The bride-
groom is a graduate of Blair Acad-
emy and Colgate University. Both
are members of the faculty of Dal-
las School District.

Scotts Wed 17 Years
Built Their Own Home
Mr. and Mrs, Rugsell ‘Scott, Jr.,
Loyalville, celebrated their 17th
wedding anniversary on Dec. 3.
"The Scotts, who are both em-
ployed have worked hard building
their spare
time. They lived in the basement of
the house while completing it. It
took ‘three years to finish but they
are now happily settled.
There are four children, Russell,
Ill, Robert, Ralph and Bonnie.

wore an embroidered gown of fan-
ciful flowers over satin, fashioned

pering at the wrist, Her veil fell

a street length satin gown of pale
pink with a fitted bodice. Her cir-
clet headdress was of pink daisies
and veiling. She carried a bouquét
of pink roses and white carnations
tied with pink streamers.
A reception followed the cere-
mony and was held in the church
hall after which the couple left for
Towa.
Mrs. Rimple is a graduate of Dal-
las ‘Senior High School and Wyo-
ming Seminary School of Business.
The bridegroom is also an alum-
nus: of Dalles [Senior High School
and is presently serving in the U. S.
Air Force.
The couple are residing’ in Sioux
City, Iowa.
Christmas Program
At Dallas High
The annual program of Christ-
mas music by the band and chorus
of Dallas Senior High School will
be presented this coming Sunday
afternoon, December 15, at 3:00 in
the ‘Senior High School auditorium.
Christmas music featuring organ,
chorus and band, both religious and
secular will be presented.
Beverly Eck will read the Christ-
mag story as told to us in St. Luke,
2, verses 1 to 19. The chorus has
prepared many fine tunes in keeping
with the holiday season. Paula Scott
will sing the traditional solo “O
Holy Night”, and Diane Duffy will
be the soloist for ‘White Christ-
mas”. )
A trumpet trio from the sopho-
more class includes Warren DeWitt,
Robert Hiley, and Thomas Rowett
and is accompanied by Ann Barnes.
Accompanying at the organ will be
Marsha Sowden, Ann Woolbert and
Judy Bergstrasser. Piano accom-
panists for the chorus are Jean
Fleming and Sandra Smith.
The senior high school band will
open the program. Their numbers
will include “Jingle Bell Rhapsody,”
“A Christmas Suite of Five Melo-
dies,” and a special arrangement of
all well-known Christmas Carols.
Chorus will be directed by Miss
Louise Ohlman and the band by Les-
ter R. Lewis.
The public is most cordially in-
vited. There will be no admission.
