Attorney Jenkins was reap- pointed at a yearly retainer of $400. Herbert Updyke was reappointed chief of police at a salary of $300 a month, with Jesse Coslett reas- signed as assistant at the same rate. Updyke was also reappointed zoning officer at*$50 a month. Tt was moved and seconded that Kingston Township be declared a single road district. Jack Berti and Paul Sabol were added to the corps of special police at $1.15 an hour. These two names will be added to present special police rolls which include the following; James Gordon, Robert Gordon, Herbert Jenkins, Robert Jones, Miles Shales, James Sisco, Asher Weiss, Joseph Layou, Howard Woolbert, Arnold Yeust, Mrs. Betty Coslett and Mrs. Jean Updyke. Lawton Culver was reappointed road superintendent at $2.15 an hour. Road crew consisting of Miles Shales, Michael Nemitz and Walter Matlawski were retained at $1.65 an hour for truck drivers and equipment operators, and $1.45 for laborers. Eggleston Funeral Saturday Mrs. Olive Austin Eggleston, 72, died at her home in Vernon Wed- nesday morning shortly after mid- ight, putting a period to a thirteen year illness, in which she was almost completely paralyzed, but unfaiingly cheerful. And far from being depressed by her physical helpless- ness, she was the port in a storm for many friends who needed en- couragemet or a word of advice. She was born in Kunkle, daugh- ter of the late William Thompson and Adelaide’ Ryman Austin. She was educated at Monroe Township Schools. Two brothers have been school supervisors, William A. Aus- tin, former supervisor of Monroe Township, - presently elementary supervisor for Dallas Schools; and the late E. Raymon Austin, super- visor for over thirty years at Laurel Run.
