Mr. and Mrs. Percy MacMillan announce the birth of a son at Gen- eral Hospital on Friday, October 5th The mother is the former Barbara Smith. This is their first child. Willard Bender attended the joint | meeting of retired teachers of Wyo- | ming and Luzerne Counties at Hotel at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Loyalville Robert Thomas Swire, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Swire, was baptiz ed September 30 at Loyalville Meth- odist Church by Rev. James Garra: han. His sponsors were Mr. and Mrs Louis Broody. A family dinner was also served in his honor with the a- bove attending and maternal grand parents. The occasion was Mr. Hileman's birthday. Noxen Volunteer Fire Company was called upon to extinguish a slight fire at the home owned by tharles Weaver on Tannery Hill. Mr .and Mrs. Robert Scouten and daughter of Ruggles are now living in the Garinger apartment, Kunkle Road. Mrs. Delmar Wintersteen has re- turned home from Nesbitt Hospital where she submitted to surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Higgins spent several days in Danville, with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shepperson. They returned home Saturday and spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Miner at Dickson, who celebrated their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary. Mrs. Higgins is the for- four present.
