School directors, supervisors and overseers of the poor should ex amine the list of names of those against whom taxes have been re turned, and if any of the properties mentioned is located In their town ship or borough, they should attend to the filing of liens against same; otherwise tho taxes will be lost. The county commissioners are responsi ble only for the collection of the county tax and will file liens for same. The local boards must file Hens for road, poor and school taxes Tho state school law provides that no child who Is not vaccinated can be admitted to the public schools, There are a number of children in the county of school age who are not attending school because they have not been vaccinated and the truant officers cannot compel tholr attend ance because there Is no law com pelling parents to have their children vaccinated. In most cases of this kind the parents rather than have their children deprived or the aavan tages of the schools, comply with the law and have them vaccinated, ai though they themselves do not be lieve In it. hence there are no chil dren out of school for this reason In this city.
