Robert T.Wyatt, the young man arrested Monday night on tho charge of murdering Captain Oliver N. The oyster shuck crs of this port are rapidly going out on strike, some 500 now being idle. In consequence of the decision of tho packers not to employ any union men after next Monday. The packers de clare that tho shuckers cause contin uous trouble by meddling and walking out every time nn objectionable em ployo Is discharged. By Monday there will be 1,800 shuckers out. The strik ers nre all colored. The strike has partially paralyzed the oyster trade hero. About $15,000 weekly Is paid out now, and tho lockout will effect 6,000 people directly.
