A desperato plot to cflect a general jail do- livery was frustrated by Wardon I.ovan and his subordinates last Friday. The plot was devised by J, E, Cholly, colored, alias James Bell, with Frank Miller, alias Evan Kirlin, and George Clark, alias "The Buffalo Star," as accomplices. George Sciders and Michael Shoeneman, two jail officials, were to have been knocked down and robbed of their keys with which tbe three long-termed prisoners were to use in making an escape. Iu their cells were concealed blackjacks and an ugly knife, and when accused by Warden Lcvan the negro confessed to the bold plot. How the men secuied the knife aud blackjacks is not known.
