Francis Felix Faure, sixth president of the third republic of France, was born Jan. 20, 1841, in Paris, and was the son of a cabinet maker. He was educated at a private com mercial school, and was then sent to England for two years to learn the lan guage and to become acquainted with Iingliah methods of business, un nis return to France he went to Ambolse and mastered the business of a cur rier.
