Surgeon-General Hamil ton has refused to turn over to Dr. Jen kins the body of Francisco Moreno, tin patient who Is said to have died of chol era. Dr. Jenkins desired to have an au topsy made and the cause of death de termined by a baiterlologioal examina tion. Tho refusal to deliver the body made Dr. Jenkins indignant, and he has now decided to land no more passengers at Camp Low. Dr. Jenkins made a statement to the representatives of tbo press in regard to the affair this morning. He said: "I sent Dr. Abbott to Camp Low yes terday to obtain the body in order that au examination could bo made which would remove all doubt as to tho cause of death. Dr. Abbott reported to me that Dr. Ham ilton refused to deliver tho body, although he admits that one patient died of chol nra. His refusal was cunvuved in hin- guace more forcible than polite, although he was approached with politeness." Fear Is entertained that the Immigrants will succeed In escaping from tbe Hook and thus spread the disease.
