Pattison next delivered nn ad dress, congratulating the society for its meeting in a Pennsylvania city, and say ing that in its love for the soldiers who responded to the call to defend their country against Southern rebellion, the Koystono State would not yield the first place to any other State. Agnus will be created secretary of War. A Weavers' Strike Settled. Palmeu, Mass., June 10. The strike of weavers in No. 2 mill at Thorndyke, which began u week ago Monday, is over. A notice was posted that tho mill ' would start yesterday, and that all who did not appear for work would ba con sidered us having left the company's employ. Every hand went to work. . The strike was because of a cut-down ! from SO to 27 cents per cut on one grade of goods, which is now made at 28 conts, . an other grades remaining as before. The statement is made that tho explosion on the tank steamer Petrolla, at Blaye, near Bor deaux, was not caused by lightning as at first reported, although the origin of the calamity is not exactly known.
