A piece of rock from a blast knocked the whistle off of the engine at the State Highway quarry at the west end of town last week, and let the steam es cape and the engine was out of commission for a few days. We acknowledge the receipt of a new road map of Fulton county by F. M. Taylor. The map is drawn to a scale of half inch to the mile, and shows all township lines, post offices, and public roads, and is a good guide for any one contemplating a trip in to parts of the county where he may not be familiar with the 'roads. Before throwing your old straw hat into the ash barrel this fall, be sure that there are no fifty dollar bills in the lining. A Philadelphia man forgot to re move his fifty which was secreted in the hat band; but an honest gar bage man found it and returned it to him. Kirk spent from Friday until Sunday in Mt. Union. More than thirty year3 ago, the Woollets came to this place from Mt. Un ion, and for twenty years, neith er of them have been in that place.
