Judge Terry, who presides over the courts of Sullivan and Wyo ming counties, caught more fish than the law allows recently, and was apprised of the fact by two state constables, lie paid his fine like a man. Last Saturday witnessed the largest excursion that ever came Ito Lake Mokoma, The excursion I came from Muncy, and filled niue ; teen coaches run in two sections j over the \V. and N. B. railroad. A load of hay which was drawn ditto a barn at Towanda last week Httddenly took fire and the suppo sition is that the blaze was caused by friction of the wheel against the rigging. The barn was saved fby running the wagon out doors and the fire department put out the blaze. The carnival at Eagles Mere Thurs day night of this week promises to be largely attended. Nearly SI,OOO will t>e expended in illuminations. The University Quartet, which made a hit at the lake last year, has lieen engaged again this year and it will be accompanied by James Hawley, reader. The boat carnival on Lake Mo koma, which promises to be the best ever witnessed on the lake, will take place on Saturday even ing, August 21. Anyone wishing to join in the parade on the water can hire a boat from the Mokoma Com pany. Much enthusiasm is already shown and if the weather is favor able the carnival will be a big success.
