There is much talk of political
hossisin in Pennsylvania, and of the
grip whic.li Col. Quay holds upon the
party.
This topic is the subject of frequent
denunciations from the Democratic
ranks. Hut taking recent event as
the model Democratic denunciations
of Republican methods is a case of
the pot calling the kettle black.
The Pennsylvania Democracy re
cently went through the form of a
convention and among the points on
which it assailed the Republican par
ty was its obedience to liossism.
Now mark the appropriateness of
this wrath! Accusing the Republi
cans, of submitting to bossism the
Democratic Convention carried out
without kick or protest, the program
outlined by Col. Gutt'ey. Its dele
gates to the St. Louis Convention
are togo uninstructed and it is un
derstood that the latter, holding
them in his hand, will join a combi
nation to help the right man.

The administration is losing no

the evidence on which to institute

Air. Bryan wants this year's political
flght to be "a conscience campaign."
Vet Mr. Bryan, If he could, would carry
out a policy which would clip at least
SO cents from the value of every dollar
and to that extent rob the people of
thdr Just earnings. The ltj to 1 eon

Mr. Cleveland Is annoyed at being
