Weak Heart From Attack of LaGrippe. Palpitation, Smother ing, Short Breath. Dr. Miles' Heart Cure Cured Me. The terrible after effects of LaGrippe are most dangerous when they attack the heart, the engine of life. Weak hearts are as com mon as weak stomachs and when an attack is made upon the weak heart, that organ soon becomes a diseased heart and the patient will unless promptly treated, suffer long and eventually die of heart disease, the dread of millions. Dr. Miles' Heart Cure strengthens and regulates the heart's action, enriches the blood and improves the circulation. "Some years ago I had an attack of the grip, and it left me with a very weak heart. Palpitation, shortness of breath and smother in;; spells that made me sit up in bed to breathe, robbing me of sleep, made me most miserable. I would become fatigued and exhausted from the least exertion and was in such a critical condition that 1 could not attend to my business. My physician seemed unable to control my case, and instead of Retting better 1 was gradually growing weaker every day. Then I began taking Dr. Miles' Heart Cure and after I had used two bottles I was greatly improved. 1 continued with the remedy until 1 had taken in all six bottles, when I was able to attend to busi ness without inconvenience. 1 was com pletely and permanently cured of heart trouble by Dr. Miles' Heart Cure and cheer fu Iv recommend it to all sufferers from that terrible affliction." —H. 11. Our longest protective pe riod was from 1801 to 1594, and, al though it was adversely affected by changing the wool schedule in ISS3, yet in the main the country prospered and made great strides as a commer cial nation. The duty on tin plates Imposed by the McKlnley law was 2 2-10 cents per pound, and with that duty the in dustry got such a start that the duty was reduced to l'a cents a pound in the Dingley law. Many articles were transferred to the free list in both the McKlnley and Dingley laws. It is not inconsistent with good pro tection doctrine to reduce a duty or abolish It altogether if it Is no longer needed, but it must be remembered that tariff laws are made primarily for revenue aud the state of the pub lic treasury mav necesslfate clianges. A Thanksgiving Dinner. Heavy eating is usually the first cause ol indigestion. Repeated attacks inflame the mucous membranes lining the stom ach, producing a swelling ufter ea(ing, heartburn, headache, sour risings ami finally catarrh of the stomach. Kodol relieves the inflammation, protects the nerves and cures the catarrah. Kodol cures indigestion, dyspepsia, all stomach troubles by cleansing and sweetening the glands of the stomach. Our Internal revenue laws furnish a splendid medium for such changes without disturbing our tariff, and in time of peace our revenue can be in creased or diminished to the extent of $100,000,000 without In any way dis turbing business. But with the tariff It is altogether different. Even the possibility of a change of import du ties causes apprehension, while the probability and afterward the actuali ty create havoc and panic. Import ers and manufacturers must rearrange prices and wages to suit the changed conditions, for commerce is conducted for profit, not sentiment or philanthro py. When the manufacturer finds he must sell his goods in competition with foreign made goods, he must at once arrange for a reduction In expenses. Labor cost Is the lirst nnd greatest thing to be considered, aud the farsee lng man knows that when wages are lowered there will be less of his prod uct purchased, nnd he must curtail his production. The effect is felt every where at once, and It soon reaches the farmer, and his prices, too, mußt fail, and even then he may not dispose of his crop, and so consternation falls on farm and factory alike, and hard times are known from one end of the country to the other. This has always been the effect of tariff reduction or the probability of repealing protective duties. And the reverse has always been true when low duties were to be In creased. The business man does not wait till the signing of a tariff law be fore making his plans and adopting his changes. He anticipates every thing months in advance. There is nothing that so disturbs business, that so frightens capital and unsettles la bor as tariff changes and their antici pation. At present we are uniformly prosper ous all over the country.
