M, Scott, the audience broke forth in hearty applause. The hall was handsomely decorat ed with evergreens, the words "On The Threshold," in golden letters, forming a half-circle like a bow of promise in front of the stage. Rev. A, 0. Worthing, reotorof St. James church was introduced. Rev. Worthing's remarks recceding the Invocation were very appropriate to the oooasion. The exercises con* eluded with a quartette by Mrs. McDonald, Miss Thurston, Rev. Pearse and Mr. J. S. Thurston. Baskets of (lowers and handsome boquets carried forward by the ush ers from time to time, as the offer ings of friends of members of tho graduating glass, fairly filled the house with their sweet perfume. Tho exercises did not weary the audience, though tho house was I paoked uncomfortably full. We be ; lieve that everyone present appre ciated the fact that such an event marked an important opooli from which tho Payette schools will ho entitled to recognition as among the best of their class in the state.
