New York.—Losing his temper, evi dently by the grimaces made by a crowd of women and children In the primate house In the Zoological park the other afternoon, Dobong, a large orangoutang, pulléd two Iron bars of his cage from their fastenings and sprang through the opening, armed with one of the bars. In a moment all was confusion and In the panic which followed women and children fought each other to get through the narrow entrances to the walk. Nobody was {njured In the rush and Dohong made no effort to assault anybody. After he had cleared the building Dohong continued to brandish the iron bar and remained master of the situa. tion for half an hour, Keepers Riley and Engelholm were standing outside the building when the crowd began to rush out. They assisted the women and children and then closed both doors. A consultation was held and many plans for the capture of the bullding were suggested and rejected. Finally Riley opened one of the doors and looked in. Dohong was standing with his legs crossed leaning on the fron bar. He looked peaceful and ex: tended his arm to the keeper. Riley walked is and locking arms with Do hong, led the orang-outang back to his CARS. Dohong has been in the park for the last five years. Athens—The Sunday services in the o'several church yesterday were very fine and appropriate for the Christ- mas anniversary (omorrow even- ing there will be special Christmas exercises at the Presbyterian church and a fine program under charge of the committee which will close with a Christmas tree and presents for the scholars. At the Baptist church there will be a Christmas tree and the scholars will render the sacred cantata, “San- ta Claus and the Star Queen.” At the Methodist church they will have two trees and the children and memebrs of the Sunday schoo! will give a cantata. There will also be recitations and special music will be sung during the exercises. At the Universalist church the sa- ered cantata “A New Bngland Home" will be given in connection with their exercises and Christmas tree ser- vices.
