Lamon, the Bingham- ton painter who was arrested at Sunbury several weeks charged with the murder of Mrs Payne, Tioga county, this state, was released from jul at Wellsboro on $1,000 bail. Lamon says that the report that he told of having committed the murder is untrue, and says that his arrest was due to the efforts of a Clearfield county “fly " cop who did not know What he was doing.
