She was borm in Phila- listed as a private in Company E, meritorious service. Their only son, Edward M. Jackson, also served in the same command and in Randolph's Battery. In the Fredericksburg Mrs. Jackson went to the front and gave her untiring energies to care for the sick and wounded soldiers. She was like a ministering angel to the suffering boys who were enduring every privation in the dark days that ac- saved many heroic men who would not have lived had it not been for her care. Her husband received the wound at Chancellorsville from the effects of which he died in 1888 She has been a noble woman and many hearts have been made glad through her min- istrations. Two children survive her, Edward M. Jackson of Cald- well, N. J, and Mrs. Margaret MacMorran of Athens. Her funeral will take place from her late residence at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, Rev. W.
