LEWIS, of Wvalusing suffered hea vily by the late forest tires, running over bis valuable timber tract in Wilmot. A young lady of Lanesborough received a terrible shock to her nervious system one day last week. Being sent for some Hour she took out of a bureau drawer what she sup posed to be a clean pillow-case, and bounced into the store with a regular tooth ache smile upon her face. The clerk took the receptacle and putting it into the bin proceed ed to fill it, but upon lifting it out, the flour all ran out of the bottom, disclosing a nicely embroidered and ruffled—well, never mind j what. As soon as the young lady saw what ii was, she " lit out" nor has he been there for her flour since— Susq. Journal.
