Mr. WATERS yester day demonstrated to us that some of his strawberries are ripe and that the REVIEW is not forgotten. The basketfull he left at this office were by far the largest we have seen.— He expects to pick thirty or forty bushels and about the same quantity of raspberries. Persons who purchase from him will get line fruit and " scripture measure." The Elmira races, which have been post poned on account of the weather, will begin to-day. Sunday evening service at Christ Church will be held during the summer months at 0 o'clock, commencing to-morrow. To-morrow will be Trinity Sunday. An earthquake has just devasted thirty, four villages in the Pashalic of Van' in Turkish Armenia. We have 110 particu lars. The Pennsylvania Railroad Company paid .$15,000,000 to Boston parties for the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad stock, recently purchased. The directors of the Pennsylvania Rail road Wednesday, ratified the contract with the Wabash, St. Louis & Pacific Railroad and the Central Railroad of New Jersey. The Loudon Times, referring to the state of affairs in Russia, says : "Never were there so many political prisoners, less stability, and greaier anxiety with no signs of returning calm." Six persons were killed in the great Quebec conflagration, and the loss is es timated at over $2,000,000. The Are broke out anew yesterday and it is feared still more damage will ensue.
