FUN AHEAD.—THE CIRCUS IS COMING. — Our citizens may all prepare for a grand holi day on Tuesday next, that being the date advertised for the exhibition by Batcheller & Doris' Great Inter-Ocean Largest Sbow 011 Earth, at this place. This gigantic consolida tion of 12 colossal shows in one havbeen ab sorbing by purchase for the past three years all the smallcrshows in rhe country, and have increased in size so suddenly that the public liave scarcely ascertained the fact which is undisputed that the Batcheller A Doris Com bination now own, control and exhibit more show property than any other similar organ ization in the country. They make a speci alty of advertising and exhibiting exclusive fcutu es and novelties which cannot be duplicated or seen in any other show, and in addition to an immense menagerie and muse um and circus, such as possessed by none of the other shows, call attention to some features which have never before been ex hibited, such as the seven-ton, two-horned, black, hairy rhinoceros, tiie only one ever imported to America; not the only rhinoceros remember, hut the only one possessing two horns and covered with a coat of black hair two and a half inches long; also, the wondei ful monster of the deep, a genuine Egyptian Bovalapus, which they positively assert is the only one ever in captivity and recently im ported for them. This rare specimen was captured in the Mediterranean, ofl' the coast of Alexandria, Egypt. These two rare zoological specimens have already attracted the attention of scientists, and will probably only be exhibited with a traveling menagerie the present season. Almost fabulous sums have been offered Messrs. Batcheller & Doris to secure them for one of the leading zoologi cal gardens. Another exclusive feature pos sessed by 110 other show is Zazel, better known as the human cannon hall, who is fired from a massive mortar seventy-five feet into mid-air, and afterwards walks a wire the size of a knitting needle, stretched across the t p of the canvas. Her performances are pro nounced by all who liaye seen them as the most exciting and miraculous ever witnessed. In addition to these novelties, they have the only group of native Zulus ever in this coun try, a genuine band of savage Sioux warriors, direct from Sitting Bull's band, Prince Satsu ma's Royal Japanese Troupe of athletes, jug glers and necromancers, Morris' hand of Georgia jubilee singers, Mile. Sara, the re nowned French bareback equestrian, (first appearance in America), Romeo Sebastian, champion bareback rider of America, W. J. Morgan, the fearless hurdle rider, the cele brated Siegrist children in gymnastic exer cises, and a grand double circus company, all excelling in their various specialties. The grandest street demonstration free to all, ever witnessed in this country will be made at 9 o'clock 011 morning of exhibition, and will actually eclipse anything of the kind you ever saw. Excursion trains will he run 011 all railroad lines at greatly reduced rates of fare, to bring in the multitudes. Decoration Day. HEADQUARTERS WATKINS ) POST NO. (IS, G. A. It., ) TOWANDA, May 24.
