EI.IHHA RICH, the founder of this cemetery, a Baptist minister and soldier in the Revolutionary war j A plain stone marks the grave. The storms I of seventy winters have almost defaced the inscription; but after long and patient search J the following can be deciphered: " Rev. E. RICH, Died 1812. Aged 72." The dale of his j death and the months and days of his age are undiseernable. While thousands of dollars have been spent in beautifying this "city of the dead," the grave of its founder is allowed to go neglected, without a suitable stone to ; mark its site. TROJAN us. Milo Goodrich, n leading member of the bar, and an ex-Congressman, died yesterday at Auburn, N. Y., aged 6.7. It is said that the will of Eben Wright, of Boston, who left $2,000,000 to Mrs. Whittier, will be contested by the rela tives of Wright, The late Stephen Stockwell, of Boston, made bequests, amounting to $130,000, to be divided among nine religious be nevolent institutions. Yesterday John Brown obtained a ver dict of seven thousand dollars against the Long Island Railway for injuries sustaiu from a train running off the track. The Texas Pacific RR., will be complet ed to Colorado, two hundred and sixty three miles west of Dalas, Texas, to-day. Freight trains will begin running Monday and passenger trains as soon time card can be changed. In the case of Miss Mary Murra vs. Gen. E. B. Tayler, Postmaster of Balti more, for $20,000 damages, for an alleg ed indecent assault while the plaintiffwas an employ in the post office, the jury ren derded a verdict in favor of the plaintiff, awarding $5,000 damages. The consular reports received in Wash ington show that the efforts now being made in Europe to create a pjejudice against American pork and ham, are due to the fears of business men that the pro tracted heavy drain of gold from the Old World to the United States, may eventu ally result in a serious disturbance of the monetary balance between the two hem ispheres. Preston Ilalloway, seven feet and nine inches tall, weighing 550 pounds, and Andrew Walker, seven feet and nine and one-halt inches tall, weighing 500 pounds, had a prize light at Charlotte, N. C. The contest lasted over an hour and both were badly punished. Finally Walker knocked Ilalloway senseless and the lat ter gave up the fight. Bradstrcet's mercantile agency reports the number of failures during the past week at 106, the lowest record in several months.
