The House committee on Ways and Means has decided to report favorably the bill reducing the duty on bi-chromate oi potash Iroin four to two cents per pound, and to place chrome iron ore upon the tree list. i Representative Shallcnberger, of this state has secured the passage of the Seu- j ate bill relative to the international exlii-j bition of sheep, w 00l and wool products, j to be held in the Centennial buildings at 1 Philadelphia in September, under the aus- ! pices of the Pennsylvania Agricultural Society. The bill allows the importation free of duty, of all articles intended sole ly for exhibition on the occasion named. It directs the Commissioner of Agricul ture to attend Ihe cxhibl,lon in person, and to make a full report upon it. The success of the exhibition is believed by its promoters to be already assured.
