The old rolling mill, of the Catasauqua iron company has been leased and will be put in operation in about ten days, employ ing 130 hands in manufacture of inuck bar. The Prince aud Princess of Wales are said to have made up their minds to es tablish a fashion of 7 o'clock dinners, in stead of tlios given at the absurd hour of 0. Mrs. Mary Pomeroy, stepmother of the notorious "Brick," a former rcsideut of Weiisboro and Lawrenceville, Pa., and of Southport, N. Y., died in Colorado sev eral weeks ago. Mrs. Schulcr, of Catasauqua, went out to wa.shmcXur'-ilay, mifl left ft charge of her three children. The woman left in the afternoon, and the two eldest children went out to play. Soon after ward fire was discovered in the house and the remaining child, a baby, was taken out burned to a crisp. There are measles and to spare in the Soldiers' Orphans Home at Normal, Ohio. On Friday of last week the first case was reported, and by Saturday night there were 50 cases. At noon, Sunday, there were 150 cases, and Sunday night almost 200. There are only 325 inmates in the Iloma, all told. A .strange old man who died near Troy last Sunday, requested that his remains should be kept in the honse for three weeks; that one of his sons make his cof fln, and that his four sons dig his grave and inter the body, lowering it into the grave as the sun should be setting behind the mountains near the house. The poor Czar cannot be shielded from the meddlesome pranks of the Nihilists. When he wakes in the morning he finds revolutionary documents on his dressing bureau. When he opens his mail he reads menacing letters written on black-bor dered paper. When he goes to the thea tre he draws from his pocket with his handkerchief a revolutionary manifesto. The talk gives an exceedingly clear idea of the method of relief employed by the Duch ess as contrasted with the method of the Mansion House Committee, and also of the extent of the fainiue.
