The Eyes of Uorses and Cattle. In the New England Farmer, a correspon dent gives the following remedy, when horses or cattle injure their eyes so as to bring on a white substance or film. He says; "Take fresh butter, newly churned; melt about a tablespoonful. and turn it into the ear opposite the eye injured, being careful to hold the ear tight together, so that they shall not by a violent shaka of the head, throw it out of the ear." This remedy, be eays, may be safely applied, if you do not uso them when tho film is coming off. lleavcs In Horses. Tight llarns for Hay. No practical and observing farmer will say that bis hay is kept better or sweeter in a tight barn, than in one which admits Bomo ait be tween the boards. Hay will prove musty in very tight barns unless it haa been so much dried as to injure it. In common barns hay that has had two day's drying will keep well though put in a large mow, provided that the air may come in at the sides. They are not experienced farmers who double board their barns, or put on clapboards to make them air tight, it is also injurious to stock if they are in that portion of the barn, it is suffocating in the summer, it is injurious to horees and they will not do well without being well aired. In order to accomplish this desired object, the true course to pursue is certainly that which will produce a natural state of things at the least hazard of vital etretarth and life-. For this purpose, Dr Hostetter has in troduced to this country a preparation bearing his name, which is not a new medicine, but one that has been tried for years, giving satisfac tion to all who have used it. The Bitters operate powerfully upon the stomach, bowels, and liver, restoring them to a healthy and vigorous action, and thus, by the simple pro cess of strengthening nature, enable the sys tem to triumph over disease. For the cure of Dyspepsia, Indigestion, Nau sea, Flatulency, Loss of Appetite, or any Bilious Complaints, arising from a morbid inaction of the Stomach or Bowels producing Cramps, Dysentery, Colic, Cholera Morbus, Lc, these titters have no equaL Diarrhoea, dysentery or flax, so generally con tracted by new settlers, and caused principally by the change Of Water and diet, will be speedily regulated by a brief use or this preparation. Dyspepsia, a disease which is probably mora prevalent, in all its various forms, than any other, and the cause of which may always t be attributed to derangements of the digestive organs, can be cured without fail by using HOSTETTER'S &TOMACH BITTERS, as per directions on the bottle. For this disease every physician will recommend Bitters of some kind ; then why not use an article kaown to be infal lible ? All nations have their Bitters, as a pre ventive of disease and strengthener of the sys tem in general; and among them all there is not to be found a more healthy people than . the Germans, from whom this preparation ema nated, based upon scientific experiments which have tended to prove the value of this great preparation in the scale of medical science. Fever akd Aocs. This trying and provok ing disease, which fixes its relentless grasp on the body of man, reducing him to a mere sha dow in a short time, and rendering him phy sically and mentally useless, can be driven from the body by the use of HOSTETTER'S RENOWNED BITTERS. Further, none of the above-stated diseases can be contracted, even in exposed situations, if the Bitters are used as per directions. And as they neither create jiausea nor offend the palate, and render un necessary any change of diet or interruption -of ordinary pursuits, but promote sound sleep and healthy digestion, the complaint is re moved as speedily as is consistent with the pro duction of a thorough and permanent etire. For Persons in Advanced Years, who are suffering from an enfeebled constitution and infirm body, these Bitters are invaluable as a restorative of strength and vigor, and need only be tried to be appreciated. And to a mother while nursing these Bitters are indis pensable, especially where the mother's nour ishment is inadequate to the demands of the child, consequently her strength must yield, and here it is where a good tonic, such as Ilostetter's Stomach Bitters, is needed to impart temporary strength and vigor to the system. Ladies should by all means try this remedy for all cases of debility, and, before so doing, should ask their physician, who. if hi is acquainted with the virtue of the Bitters, will recommend their use in all cases of weakness.
