This wonderful remedy was brought to the knowledge of the present proprietors by ' a friend who has been a great traveler in Persia and the Holy Land. While coins down the nver Euphrates, be ex. perienced a ercre attack of Fever and Ague Od discovering his condition, one of the Boat- tten took trotn his person an Amulet, saying, Wear this and no Fecer wilt touch you." Al though incredulous as to its virtues; he complied, and exjerienced immediate relief, ami has since always fouud it an euectuaJ protection iroin ail malarious confplaints. On further investigation he found that the boatman attributed to it miraculous powers, and sail that it could only be obtained from the Priests of th Sun. Some time afterwards, the gentleman in conversing with a Priest obtained from him the secret of its preparation, and as certained where the medicinal herbs were found, of which it was compounded. The wonderful virtues of this article have induced a full belief in the minds -of tbe natives in the miraculous healing powers of their Priests. Since his return to America, it has been tried with the happiest effect by several Ladies and Gentlemen of high" character, who have given it the iost unqualified praise. This remedy having been a specific in Persia for hundreds of years, for tbe prevention and cure of Fever and Ague and Bilious Fevers is now offered to the Amer ican ne"ole. 1 It will t sent by mail, prepaid, wUh full di rections for use, on receipt of one dollar. In cases of Geueral DeUhty, whether the re sult of acute disease, c-rof the continued dimi nution of nervous and muscular energy from Chronic complaints oiie trial -of this restorative has proved bucecsfnl to an extent which r.o description nor written aUeatiou would render credible. Invalids so long bed-ridden as to hare become frgotton in then- own neigh boi hoods, have suddenly re-appeared in the busy world as if jut returned from a protracted travel ia a distant hind. Some very signal instances of this kind are attested of female Sufierers, emaciated victims of apparent marasmus, sanguineous ex haustion, critical changes, and that complication of nervous and dyspenrio aversion to air and exercise for which the physician has no name. In Nervous Affections of all kinds, and for reasons familiar to Medical men, the operation of this preparation of Iron must cecessarity be salutary, for, unlike the old oxides, it is vigor ously tonic, without being exciting and over heating, and gently, reguUrly aperient, eveu in the mutt obstinate cases of costivena without ever btring a gastric purgative or inflicting a dis agreeable sensation. It is this latter property, among other which makc-t it remarkably efieetual and permanent a remedy f.r tile, upon which it also apjeirs to exert a distinct and specific actiuH, by dis persing the local tendency w hicu forms them. In DyKj-epsia innumerable as are its can- s, a single Ikx cf these Chilybtate Pills has (Tien sufficed for the mot habitual cases, including the attendant costiceness. In unchecked Diarrhoea, even when advanced to Dyscntiry, confirmed emaciating and appa rently maligueut, the effects have beea equally decisive and astonishing. In the local pains, loss of flesh and fctrcngth. debiliatihg cough, anil remittent be;tic. which generally indicates Incipient Consumption, this remedy has allayed the alarm cf friends and physicians, in several very gratifying and in terestiog instances. Iu Scr-fulons Tuborculsis, this medicated iron has hal far more than the good effect of the mokt cautiously balanced preparations of idione, without any of their well known liabilities. The attention of females cannot l too confi dently invited to this remcily and restorative, in the caces peculiarly affecting thm. Iu Rheumatism J both Chronic and inflamatory in the latter, however, more decidedly it has been iuvariabjy well reported, both as alleviating pain and reducing the swellings and ttifness of the joints and muscles. In Intermittent fevers it must necefsarily be a great remedy and energetic restorative, and its ppgress in the new sett'ementa cf the West will probably be one of high renown and use ulness.
